how could he live without her, his heart was bleeding and his mind was realing, suddenly as he watched her sleep with a pale expression on her face, Clark realized, that she was ONE. The only one for him, she loved him and cherished him. Without thinking, he slowly picked up Chloe into his arms gently and brushed back her blonde hair tenderly.
"It's okay Chlo," he said softly as he kissed her cheek lovingly. "I will protect you," he meant every word as he quietly spoke to her tenderly as she stirred.
"...Clark..." she mumbled tiredly, he smiled and looked up at her, an intense glare in his blue eyes filled with love and compassion for this frail angel in his arms.
"...You're my hero..." she spoke quitely and he knew deep within his heart her weak smile made his mind swim with happiness becuase he was there for her and he loved her more than she would ever know. They say you never know what the other person is thinking, Clark thought to himself as he smiled rushing off to the Talon Chloe's in his protective grip. But she is about to know. He finished as tore off into the distance love in his mind and heart.
